How do automated Google reviews work?

Owner helps you turn happy guests into Google reviews, automatically. Here’s how the system works:

Step 1: Ask for Quick Feedback

Right after a customer places an order, we ask them for quick feedback with two simple buttons 👍 or 👎 on the order confirmation screen, a QR code printed on their receipt and a link in the order confirmation email.

Step 2: Direct Customers to the Right Place

If they tap 👍, they’re sent directly to your restaurant’s Google review page.

If they tap 👎, they’re shown a short, private feedback form that only you can see.

Step 3: Send Reminders

We follow up with two subtle reminders to make sure customers don’t forget: an email about an hour after their meal and a link in the SMS receipt.

Step 4: Match Reviews to Orders

We automatically scan for new Google reviews every few minutes. When we detect a review, we match it to a recent order using details like the customer's name, email, and the time they tapped 👍.

Step 5: Keep You in the Loop

When a new review is clearly tied to a recent order, you'll get an email notification with the details. That way, you can track your reputation in real time, share wins with your team, and follow up with customers when needed.

FAQ

Where can I see the results of these reviews?

You can view the Google reviews driven by Owner on the Owner Dashboard Overview page. You can toggle the date selector at the top of the dashboard to see the number of reviews by rating in each period. You will also see a preview of the most recent reviews, regardless of selected period.

This section will only be shown at the location level, not the brand level.

Can a guest coming from Owner leave a low rating on Google?

A customer can leave any rating once they are redirected to Google. However, customers only get redirected to Google once they provide a "thumbs up" and our data shows these reviews are overwhelmingly 4s and 5s.

Does a thumbs‑down hurt a my Google rating?

No. Thumbs‑down feedback is kept private inside Owner and never reaches Google.

When do I get the notification email?

As soon as we match a review with high confidence and only once per review.

Can customers leave a review later?

Yes. The links in our emails and SMS work for 30 days after the order.

Can I turn off the follow‑up emails?

Yes. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Features → Toggle off “Customer Reviews”
