How do I add or remove sales tax from a menu item?

Sales tax is automatically enabled for all items. Here's how to disable or re-enable it for specific items.

โ„น๏ธ Sales tax is automatically enabled for all items. No action is needed unless you want to disable it for specific items.

1. Log in to your Owner Dashboard, and click Restaurant

2. Click Menu

3. Click Items

4. Select the item you want to update and toggle Apply Sales Tax for this Item on or off

5. Click Save Item

What if only some of my items are taxable in my area?

You can manually disable sales tax for each non-taxable item using the steps above, or email a list of items to [email protected] and we'll help you adjust them.

Does Owner.com file or remit sales tax for me?

No. You're responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax to your local tax authorities.
