How do I change menu item settings on the Owner POS and Owner Tablet?

Configure an item's channels, category assignments, promotion flags, sales tax, alcohol status, loyalty points, internal name, and order throttling override from the additional settings section.

Each menu item has additional settings that control where it appears, how it's promoted, and how it's taxed.

1. Tap Menu in the side navigation.

2. Tap the category that contains the item.

3. Tap the item.

4. Scroll to the additional settings section at the bottom. Tap any row to change it.

Setting

What it does

Channels

Controls where this item appears: POS, Online, Kiosk, or any combination.

Categories

Assigns this item to one or more categories.

Promotion

Marks the item as Popular (highlighted on the menu) or Upsell (suggested at checkout).

Sales tax

Toggles whether sales tax applies to this item.

Alcohol

Flags the item as containing alcohol.

Points to redeem

Sets how many loyalty points a guest needs to redeem this item for free. Adjustable in increments of 50 points.

Internal name

An identifier you and your staff see on the dashboard, tablet, and kitchen tickets. Guests still see the regular item name.

Override conditions

Sets whether this item counts toward your order throttling limits and large order counts. Items are included by default.

ℹ️ Changes save immediately after you make a selection in each setting.
