You can subscribe or unsubscribe a guest from your email and SMS marketing in the Customers section of your Owner Dashboard or the Owner app. Email and SMS are separate, so you can change one without touching the other.
Requirements
The Manage customers permission.
Before you start
Unsubscribing a guest is instant. To subscribe a guest, Owner first asks you to confirm you have permission to market to them. You'll certify that:
The guest gave consent to receive marketing from your business, and you have a record of it. For example, a signed intake form, a checkout opt-in, or their own request.
If you plan to text them, their consent covers SMS specifically. Email consent alone isn't enough under U.S. law (the TCPA).
You didn't buy, rent, append, or get the contact from a third party.
From your Owner Dashboard
Find the guest on the Customers page, then update their marketing settings.
Click Customers in the left navigation.
Click the guest you want to update.
Click Edit.
Under Marketing, turn Email marketing or SMS marketing on to subscribe the guest, or off to unsubscribe them.
Click Save.
From the Owner app
In the Owner app, Customers is under More, in the bottom-right corner.
Go to More › Customers.
Tap the guest you want to update.
Tap Edit.
Under Marketing, turn Email marketing or SMS marketing on to subscribe the guest, or off to unsubscribe them.
Tap Save.
How your guests can opt out on their own
Your guests can also unsubscribe themselves at any time:
Text: reply STOP to any marketing text. This stops texts only, not emails.
Email: click Unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email.
On your website: guests with an account can log in and open Profile. Under Details, they uncheck the email or text marketing options and click Save.
