Show or hide menu items by channel

Control where each menu, category, item, and option group appears: POS (in-store), Online (your website and app), Kiosk, and Marketplace (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub). This lets you sell the right menu on each surface.

ℹ️ Note: Channel visibility is set per menu, per category, per item, and per option group. Each surface has its own independent toggle, so you can turn any combination on or off.

In the Owner Dashboard

Click Menu in the left-hand navigation. You'll see sub-tabs at the top: Menus, Categories, Items, Option groups, Options. Each has its own Channels toggles under Advanced Settings.

Update a category

  1. Click the Categories tab.

  2. Click the category you want to update.

  3. Scroll down to Advanced Settings > Channels.

  4. Turn each channel on or off independently using its toggle:

    • POS: your Owner point of sale.

    • Online: your website and app.

    • Marketplace: delivery marketplaces you're integrated with (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub).

  5. Click Save Category.

Update an item

  1. Click the Items tab.

  2. Click the item you want to update.

  3. Scroll down to Advanced Settings > Channels.

  4. Turn POS, Online, and Marketplace on or off.

  5. Click Save Item.

Update an option group

Option groups have their own Channels toggles under Advanced Settings > Channels on the option-group edit page. Use this to show a set of options on only one surface (for example, catering options shown only Online).

Individual options don't have their own Channels toggle; they inherit from the parent option group.

Update a whole menu

  1. Click the Menus tab.

  2. Click the menu you want to update.

  3. Scroll down to Advanced Settings > Channels.

  4. Turn POS, Online, Kiosk, and Marketplace on or off.

  5. Click Save Menu.

This is the fastest way to keep an entire menu (like catering) off the POS or Kiosk without editing each category and item.

Good to know

⚠️ Hiding a category from a channel does not hide its items. Category and item channels are independent. To remove an entire category from a surface, set both the category and every item inside it to that channel; otherwise the items can still appear even when their parent category is hidden there.

  • New menus, categories, items, and option groups default to all channels on: POS, Online, Kiosk (at locations that have it), and Marketplace (at locations with a delivery marketplace integration). Turn a channel off where you don't want it.

  • Marketplace shows only at locations with a delivery marketplace integration (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub). It defaults on and was backfilled onto existing menus, so nothing dropped off marketplaces when it launched. Turn it off on a menu, category, item, or option group to keep that piece off marketplaces; marketplace-specific pricing is also supported. If an item is missing on a marketplace or a sync fails, check whether its Marketplace channel is turned off. Note that a copied menu missing the Marketplace channel can push a blank menu.

  • Don't turn every channel off. An empty channel list is read as "no restriction" by the Owner Kiosk app, so the category or item can still appear there (Online and POS do hide it). To hide something on every surface, set it to Unavailable instead.

  • There's no bulk edit for channels. Bulk edit on the Items page supports prices only, so set channels one item or category at a time.

  • If you don't see the Channels section, your location has only one channel enabled (most often Online only). The toggles appear only when more than one channel is available.

✅ Tip: If your location has Owner Kiosk, a Kiosk toggle appears in the same Channels section. Treat it like POS and Online.
