⚠️ Before you start: complete or cancel all open and scheduled orders. You cannot turn table service on or off while orders are open.
Give each server a PIN
Table service credits each order, and its tips, to the staff member signed in with their PIN. Someone must be signed in to seat a table.
Make sure each server has their own PIN in your Owner Dashboard.
On each station, go to Settings › Station › Access.
Turn on Require Passcode.
✅ If your team pools tips, you can create one shared staff member and give everyone the same PIN.
Turn on table service
Go to Settings › Orders.
Under In-store orders, turn on Use table service features. Tables now appears in the side drawer above Checkout.
ℹ️ This turns on table service for every station at your location. It's separate from Ask for a table number for dine-in orders, which is for counter service with numbered placards.
Build your floor plan
Your floor plan can have more than one service area, like a dining room and a patio. Each area has its own tables.
Add a service area
From the side menu, tap Tables.
Tap Actions, then Add service area.
Enter a name, like Patio, and save it.
Add and arrange tables
In Tables, choose the service area, then tap Actions › Edit floor plan.
Tap Add table and choose Square table or Round table.
Drag the table where you want it. Drag its edge to make it bigger or to stretch a square into a rectangle.
To rename a table, tap it, then tap its name. Enter a Table name and tap Save table. You can use letters and numbers, like P1.
Tap Done.
✅ Keep table names short so they fit on the floor plan. Use Undo and Redo while you edit.
Rename or delete a service area
In Tables, choose the area, tap Actions, then Rename service area or Delete service area.
⚠️ Deleting a service area removes it from the floor plan. This cannot be undone.
Set up paper tipping (optional)
If servers bring the check to the table, turn on paper tipping so a tip slip prints after card payments. It's set per station. See Take payment on your Owner tablet or POS.
To start serving, see Seat guests and manage tables with table service.
