Checkout page overview

The checkout page is the last step when a guest places an order. It shows a summary of their order and where they enter their details.

What's on the page

  • Order summary: the items in the cart, with the option to add a coupon or gift card.

  • Pickup or delivery details: the delivery address, estimated time, and a place to add delivery instructions. It also shows how much the guest is saving by ordering directly from you.

  • Tip: three preset options plus a custom amount.

  • Your information: the guest's contact and payment details. Returning guests can sign in with a code sent to their phone to reuse their saved info.

Why guests see a savings amount

At checkout, guests may see a message like "You're saving $2.34 by ordering directly from us." The savings figure adds up two things:

  • Any discounts applied to the order.

  • A well-researched estimate of how much more the same order would typically cost on third-party delivery apps, which often charge guests higher prices than ordering direct.

We keep the estimate conservative so the number guests see is realistic. You can't adjust it.
