How your website shows up on Google

Owner sets up your website so Google can find it and show it to people searching for food near you. You don't need to do anything, but here's what Google shows and how to change it.

What Google shows

When someone finds your website on Google, they see two parts:

  • The title: your restaurant's name, the food you're known for, and your city, like "Best Pizza in Austin, TX | [Your restaurant's name]".

  • Links below the title: pages on your website, like Menu or Catering, with a short description.

ℹ️ Note: The box with your hours, photos, and reviews on Google is your Google Business Profile. It's separate from your website.

What Owner sets up for you

Owner picks the food you're best known for, based on your cuisine, and uses it in your website's titles. Owner also builds pages for popular searches, like "Best Burgers in Austin", to help more guests find you.

Every item on your menu has its own web page too. Owner doesn't build a separate search page for each item, because pages with little text don't rank well on Google. Your most-searched dishes and cuisines get search pages instead.

Owner also creates your sitemap, the list of your website's pages that Google reads, and sends it to Google for you. You don't need to make or submit one.

Change what Google shows

Some parts you can change yourself, and some need Owner Support.

  • Your food type or keywords: contact Owner Support. Tell them the dish or cuisine you want to be known for.

  • Your city: this comes from your location's address, so it stays the same.

  • The links below the title: these follow your website's pages. Add, hide, or delete pages to change them. See Add, hide, or delete a page.

How long changes take

Google decides when to update its results. A change can show in a few hours or take a week or more. No one, including Owner, can make Google update faster.
