You set availability hours on a category in Owner. DoorDash and Uber Eats don't have categories, only items, so Owner copies each category's hours onto every item in it before publishing. Your hours do reach the marketplace, but a few setups behave differently from what you'd expect.
When an item sits in more than one category
Owner publishes the combined hours of every category the item belongs to. An item in a Lunch category (12 PM to 2 PM) and a Dinner category (5 PM to 9 PM) is orderable during both windows on the marketplace, not just one.
⚠️ If the item is also in a category with no hours set, it publishes with no hours at all. It becomes orderable whenever your store is open, and the restricted category is ignored. Take the item out of the no-hours category to fix this.
Limiting an item to certain days
Copying an item into several day-of-week categories doesn't limit it on a marketplace. Because the hours merge, the item ends up orderable every day. This works on your own Owner menu, so it's an easy one to get caught by.
✅ Tip: put the item in its own category with only those days set, and don't add it to categories that run on other days.
If something looks wrong on your marketplace menu
An item shows all day when it shouldn't. Check whether it's also in a category with no hours set, and remove it from that category.
An item shows at the wrong times. Check whether it's in more than one category. Move it into its own category if you need it restricted.
An item is missing completely. If every day of its category is set to closed, Owner drops that category's items from the marketplace menu entirely. Check the category's hours.
ℹ️ Your store hours always cap the window. If a category's hours run past the hours your store is open, the marketplace uses the shorter of the two.
