Print item labels

Item labels print one sticker or slip for each item when an order fires to the kitchen, showing the item name, options, and order details. They're a good fit for coffee shops, bowls, sandwiches, and pizza.

Get started

  1. Open your Printing settings and turn ON Print item labels. This will print a label automatically for each item when an order fires to the kitchen. You can also print labels manually at any time.

  2. Set your font size and whether option group names print.

  3. Send a test order to the kitchen and check that a label prints.

  4. Using sticky labels? Tear each label off as it prints so the next one can print.

Sticky Label Printer

Item labels can print on regular receipt paper, or on sticky, linerless label paper for cups, bags, and wrappers. To print on sticky label paper, you'll need a label printer. Owner POS customers can order one by contacting our Support team.

Large quantities

When a guest orders several of the same item, each one gets its own numbered label, up to a cap of 10.

For example, 5 iced lattes print 5 labels (1 of 5, 2 of 5, and so on). Because of the cap, if a guest orders more than 10 of the same item, only one label prints with the total instead, like Iced Latte × 47.

Print item labels manually

You can print item labels any time, even when auto-print is off.

1. Open the order.

2. Tap Print, then Items.

3. Select the items you want, then confirm. The labels print right away.

ℹ️ If you print a label before the item is sent to the kitchen, it prints again automatically when the order fires. Just discard the extra.
