Manage your in-house delivery drivers

Assign your in-house delivery orders to your own drivers and follow them on a live map. Turn it on once in Settings, then send orders to drivers from Dispatch in your Owner Dashboard or the Owner App, or from Driver manager on your Owner POS.

Requirements

  • Owner POS

  • In-house delivery set up, with a delivery zone that uses your own drivers

  • Drivers with the Owner App on their phone (iPhone or Android)

Turn on in-house delivery management

Turn it on for each location where your own drivers deliver.

  1. In your Owner Dashboard, go to Settings › Orders and delivery › Delivery.

  2. Turn on In-house delivery management.

Turn on In-house delivery management.

ℹ️ Note: You can also turn it on in the same place in the Owner App settings. To stop assigning drivers, turn it off. Deliveries that are already out can still be finished.

Set up your drivers and dispatchers

Two permissions control who can do what. You'll find both under In-house delivery when you edit a job in Staff › Jobs.

  • Deliver orders: lets someone take deliveries in the Owner App. Give this to your drivers.

  • Assign drivers: lets someone assign, reassign, and track deliveries. Admins and Managers have this by default.

ℹ️ Note: If your staff don't log in to your POS with a passcode, turn on Assign drivers in Settings › Stations and tablets › Tablet permissions so they can assign drivers from Driver manager.

Each driver needs their own staff profile with an email, so they can log in to the Owner App on their phone. See Add a staff member. Then share Deliver orders as a driver with your drivers so they know how to take deliveries.

✅ Tip: If you see an In-house Driver job in Staff › Jobs, it already includes Deliver orders. Give it to your drivers.

Assign orders to a driver

New in-house delivery orders show up under Unassigned, with a pin on the map for each drop-off. You can send up to 20 orders to one driver at once.

On your Owner POS

  1. Tap the menu icon (☰), then Driver manager.

  2. Select the orders you want to send together.

  3. Choose an available driver and confirm.

In your Owner Dashboard or the Owner App

  1. Go to Dispatch. In the Owner App, tap More, then Dispatch.

  2. Under Unassigned, select the orders you want to send together, then choose Assign.

  3. On Select driver, choose an available driver and confirm.

Your driver gets a notification right away.

⚠️ A driver who is already out for delivery can't take new orders until they finish their current stops.

Track and change deliveries

Open Assigned to see each driver, their orders, and where they are on the map. Select an order to change it:

  • Reassign: give the order to a different driver.

  • Unassign: send the order back to Unassigned.

  • Mark delivered: close out the order if your driver forgot to.

If a driver can't deliver an order

If your driver cancels a stop, for example because the guest didn't answer, the order comes back to your store. The guest's order isn't cancelled. Assign it to a driver again, or cancel the order yourself if you need to.

Settle up at the end of the day

Use the Driver payouts report to see what you owe each driver in card tips, and how much cash they need to hand back. Open it from Reports or Dispatch.
