The Owner Kiosk is an in-store, self-service device where your guests order and pay on their own. It looks and feels almost identical to your Owner website and app, because it's an extension of online ordering, not a separate system.

How guests order
Guests move through these screens in order, from the home screen to their receipt.
The guest taps the home screen, then chooses Dine in or Take out. By default, both options show. This screen is skipped when the Kiosk is set to dine-in only or take-out only.
The guest can enter a phone number for loyalty. This step is optional.
The guest browses the menu, with categories on the left and items on the right.
The guest adds items to the cart and goes to checkout.
If the loyalty lookup didn't return a name, the What's your name? screen asks for one.
The tipping screen appears. It's on by default, and the guest can change the tip percentage or skip it.
The guest pays on the Stripe M2 card reader with tap, chip, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
The confirmation screen shows the guest's name, order number, and a QR code for a digital receipt.
What happens between guests
The Kiosk has two automatic behaviors that get it ready for the next guest. Both clear the previous guest's info (cart, phone, name, and loyalty) so nothing carries over.
After a guest completes their order
Once a guest pays, the confirmation screen appears with their order number, "Thank you!", and a QR code for their digital receipt. The previous guest's data is cleared from memory as soon as this screen loads, and the screen stays visible so the guest can get their receipt.
The screen has a Done button with an animated countdown ring. The screen ends in one of two ways:
If the guest or a staff member taps Done, the Kiosk goes back to the home screen right away.
If no one taps anything for 30 seconds, the Kiosk returns to the home screen on its own.
This means the next guest waits 30 seconds at most, or no time at all if someone taps Done.
✅ Tip: Guests can tap Done instead of waiting for the countdown. The 30-second auto-return is fixed and currently can't be changed.
If a guest walks away before paying
If someone stops tapping partway through an order, the Kiosk clears their session so a half-built cart doesn't stay on the screen.
After about 20 seconds without a tap, the Are you still ordering? prompt appears.
A 10-second countdown starts ("We'll be resetting this cart in 10s…").
The guest can tap I'm still ordering to keep the cart, or New order to clear it and start fresh.
If no one taps either button before the countdown ends, the Kiosk clears everything and returns to the home screen.
This timer only runs during an active order (phone entry, menu, cart, and checkout). It doesn't run on the home screen, the confirmation screen, or during payment processing, so a guest who's paying won't have their order reset.
By default, the 20-second inactivity window plus the 10-second countdown adds up to about 30 seconds.
You can change the 20-second inactivity window with the Inactivity timer setting on the Kiosk (minimum 5 seconds, no maximum). The 10-second countdown is fixed. To learn how, see Set up your Owner Kiosk.
Pickup and order numbers
Guest pickup: Orders are called by guest name by default. Ordering by table number is also available.
Order numbering: Order numbers are assigned per location, per day. They start at 1, increase with each order, and roll back to 1 after 999, then reset at the end of each day in your location's local time zone. All your order channels (Kiosk, POS, website, app, and delivery marketplaces) share the same numbering.
Receipts and printing
⚠️ The Kiosk does not currently support receipt printing, which is common for kiosks.
After checkout, the Kiosk shows a QR code the guest can scan to get a digital receipt.
If a guest needs a printed receipt, you can print it from your tablet or POS, the same way you would for an online order.
Where Kiosk orders show up
Kiosk orders flow in alongside the rest of your orders, so your team handles them on your tablet or POS just like any online order.
They appear as dine in or in store orders, not online orders.
Payment details
The Kiosk uses the Stripe M2 card reader, the same one the Owner POS uses. Guests can pay with tap, chip, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Each Kiosk includes one card reader at no extra cost.
Cash payments aren't supported on the Kiosk, so all transactions go through the card reader.
ℹ️ Note: If an item in the cart becomes unavailable after the guest adds it, the Kiosk blocks payment and shows that the item is unavailable. The guest removes it from the cart, then pays again.
