What's the difference between a regular menu and a catering menu?

Owner has two menu types: your regular (online ordering) menu and a separate catering menu. Here's how they compare.

Structure and items

  • Focused on smaller, individual, or group orders.

  • Typically includes standard dishes available for immediate preparation.

  • Designed for larger group orders, such as events or parties.

  • Often includes bulk packages or platters that aren’t available on the regular menu.

Advance order time

  • Orders can be placed for same-day delivery or pickup, depending on the restaurant's policies.

  • Orders can typically only be placed up to 7 days in advance. For example, if today is Monday, orders can be scheduled as far out as the next Monday.

  • Lead time is a per-location setting. Minimum lead time defaults to 24 hours and can be configured anywhere from 2 to 72 hours. Same-day orders are possible when the lead time is set below the number of hours left in the day.

  • How far ahead guests can order is also a per-location setting. Maximum order window defaults to 7 days and can be configured anywhere from 1 to 60 days.
