Owner connects to SkyTab through Otter. You install the Otter app inside your own SkyTab account, because only you can add apps there. This takes about ten minutes.
Before you start
Your Owner contact has told you they've started the request on our side. Otter won't activate the connection until that's in, so check with them before you begin.
You can log in to your SkyTab account at
lh.shift4.com.You have at least one Schedule published. SkyTab calls a menu a Schedule, and the connection needs one to pull from.
ℹ️ SkyTab can have multiple Schedules. You can ask us to hide certain categories, such as alcohol, and catering menus are supported. Share what you need with your Owner contact and they'll set it up.
Install the Otter app
Log in to your SkyTab account at
lh.shift4.com.On the left panel, click Marketplace.
Search for
Otterin the Apps Marketplace, then click View Details.Click Install.
Fill in every field on the installation form, then click Submit at the bottom right.
Wait for the green check to confirm it installed. If you don't see it straight away, refresh the page.
ℹ️ Can't find Otter in the Marketplace? Don't keep searching. Tell your Owner contact, because it usually means the request hasn't been activated on our side yet.
Send your Location ID
After the install finishes, look at your browser's address bar. The Location ID is the number at the end of the URL.
For example, if the address ends in
/43092437, your Location ID is43092437.Send that number to your Owner contact.
⚠️ Send only the number, not the whole web address. Sending the full URL is the most common reason this step has to be done twice.
Republish your menu
🚨 Don't skip this step. Without it, your menu never reaches Otter and the connection can't be finished.
From the left panel, go to Apps Marketplace, then Menu Manager.
Republish your menu.
✅ If the Publish menu button is greyed out, that just means there's nothing new to publish. Carry on, nothing is wrong.
What happens next
Tell your Owner contact once Otter is installed, you've sent the Location ID and you've republished. They'll finish the connection with Otter and place a test order to confirm it's working. You don't need to do anything else in SkyTab until they come back to you.
