Some restaurants run on Otter without a separate point of sale. If that's you, Owner connects straight to your Otter account. Orders from your Owner site arrive on your Otter tablet alongside your delivery orders, so everything lands in one place.
Otter holds your menu
This is the one thing to get straight, because it changes where you go to make a change.
đ¨ Once you're connected, your Owner Dashboard no longer lets you edit your menu. Every change to an item, price, description or photo happens in Otter Business Manager. This isn't a fault, it's how the connection works, and it keeps the two systems from disagreeing.
Making a menu change
Make the change in Otter Business Manager.
Publish the menu to Owner. You have to publish every time, otherwise the change stays in Otter and never reaches your site.
Give it a few minutes, then check your live site.
â ď¸ Forgetting to publish is the most common reason a change doesn't show up. If something looks missing on your site, check Otter first and republish before contacting us.
Getting set up
Your Owner contact handles most of this with Otter directly, so there isn't much for you to do.
Already an Otter customer? We'll use your existing account and your existing menu. Nothing gets rebuilt.
New to Otter? We'll build your menu first, then Otter pulls it into your new Otter Business Manager account.
Hardware. If you need a tablet and printer, Otter ships them to you and sends setup instructions.
Before you go live, we'll send a test order together and check it reaches your tablet and prints correctly.
