Using Owner with Lightspeed K-Series

ℹ️ Note: this applies to Lightspeed K-Series only. Other Lightspeed products, including X-Series and U-Series, do not connect to Owner.

Lightspeed K-Series connects to Owner through Otter, a partner that sits between your POS and Owner. Otter reads your menu straight from Lightspeed and keeps it up to date on Owner, so there's no second menu to build.

What the integration does

  • Sends your orders to Lightspeed. Orders placed on your Owner website and app arrive in your Lightspeed POS.

  • Keeps your menu in step. Items, prices, options and availability come from Lightspeed. Change them there and the change reaches Owner.

Where you manage what

Lightspeed holds your menu. Make every change to items, prices and options there, and it reaches Owner on its own. A few display settings stay in Owner because Lightspeed has no equivalent for them.

  • In Lightspeed: items, prices, options, item names, and whether something is available.

  • In Owner: category hours, and which items show as popular or as upsells.

⚠️ Don't rename items outside Lightspeed. Item names have to match between Lightspeed and Otter for orders to inject. If a name is wrong, change it in Lightspeed and let it sync through.

How often it syncs

Your menu and prices sync from Lightspeed automatically every 6 hours. A change you make will get there on its own, so there's nothing to press. If you need something live sooner than that, ask your Owner contact to run a sync.

Getting connected

Your menu needs to be built and tidy in Lightspeed before the first sync runs, because Otter reads it exactly as it stands. The steps are in Connect Lightspeed K-Series to Owner.

Orders only inject while your iPad is switched on and accepting orders, so leave it running during service.
