ℹ️ These settings create permanent or scheduled prep time changes. For one-off situations, use Busy Mode instead.
Prep Time Overrides
Prep Time Overrides let you set a custom prep time for specific hours and days, replacing your Default Prep Time. Use these for predictable busy periods like weekend dinner rushes or lunch hours.
Example: If your Default Prep Time is 15 minutes but you need 50 minutes on Fridays from 5 PM–9 PM, set an Override for 50 minutes during those hours.
⚠️ Important:
Overrides fully replace the Default Prep Time (they don't add to it)
Time windows cannot overlap
Overrides cannot extend past midnight (set separate overrides if needed)
Set Overrides in the Owner Dashboard
1. Open Settings
Click the Settings button at the bottom of the left navigation.
2. Click Prep time
In the Settings panel, click Prep time.
3. Click Add hours
Under Prep time overrides, click + Add hours.
4. Configure override
Select the days and set:
Days of the week (Sun, Mon, Tue, etc.)
Duration (prep time in minutes for this override)
Start time
End time
5. Save
Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Adjust Overrides in the Owner App
You can quickly adjust prep time on-the-go from the Owner App.
1. Open the Store tab
In the tab bar, tap Store.
2. Tap Prep Time
Find the Prep Time row and tap it.
3. Set your buffer
Add minutes: Use the plus button or keypad to increase prep time
Remove minutes: Use the minus button or delete the number
The change applies immediately.
4. Verify from the Home tab
When a prep time adjustment is active, the Home tab shows an alert: Prep-time override is on. Clear it by returning to Prep Time and setting it to 0.
✅ Only adjust prep time when your kitchen is running behind. Turn it off once you catch up to keep order times accurate for guests.
Large Order Thresholds
Automatically add extra prep time when orders exceed a certain size.
1. Open Settings
Click the Settings button at the bottom of the left navigation.
2. Click Prep time
In the Settings panel, click Prep time.
3. Select threshold type
Under Large order threshold, click the dropdown and select Items or Dollars.
4. Set extra time
Under Large order extra time, enter the additional prep time in minutes.
5. Save
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
⚠️ You can only use one threshold type per location (dollar amount OR item count, not both). Large Order Extra Time applies on top of your Default Prep Time, Overrides, and Busy Mode.
