Add pickup instructions for guests and delivery drivers

Pickup instructions live in Settings > Orders and delivery in your Owner Dashboard. Write them once per location so guests and drivers know where to collect an order.

ℹ️ You set pickup instructions for each location separately, so a brand with several locations can give different directions at each one.

Add instructions for guests

These are for pickup orders. Guests who order delivery won't see them.

1. Go to Settings, then click Orders and delivery.

2. Click Kitchen.

At locations using Owner POS or a kiosk, this tab is called In-store operations.

3. Under Pickup instructions, open the Guests tab.

4. Write where guests should go when they arrive. You have up to 280 characters.

✅ Put the most important detail first. The text message guests get when their order is ready shows only the first 150 characters, so anything longer gets cut off there.

5. Click Save.

Where guests see your instructions

Your instructions appear in four places, so guests can find them on their phone or in their email.

  • The order tracking screen in the Owner app

  • The order confirmation page on your website

  • The order confirmation email

  • The text message they get when their order is ready

If you leave the Guests tab empty, none of these show a pickup instructions section at all.

Add instructions for delivery drivers

When a delivery order from your own website or app goes out with a DoorDash or Uber Eats driver, that driver has to find your pickup counter too. You can give drivers their own directions, separate from what guests see. Guests never see this text.

1. Under Pickup instructions, open the Delivery drivers tab.

2. Write where drivers should go to collect orders. You have up to 200 characters.

3. Click Save.

⚠️ DoorDash and Uber Eats send this text to their own drivers, so we can't control when it arrives or how it looks. We also add a line telling the driver to call your restaurant if they still can't find you.
