Review and export staff pay

Every shift from the time clock and your timesheets adds up on the Pay page. Review hours and pay in your Owner Dashboard or the Owner App, then export a summary for your payroll provider.

Requirements

What's on the Pay page

The Pay page has two views. Summary shows totals, with one row for each staff member, job, and location. Timesheets shows each shift. Both start on today's date until you pick a different date range.

The Summary view has these columns:

Column

What it shows

Staff Member

The person's name

Location

Where they worked

Job Title

The job they worked

Hourly Rate

The rate on their profile for this job, or the job's default rate

Paid hours

Hours they're paid for, including paid breaks

Unpaid Break

Total unpaid break time

Paid Break

Total paid break time

Total Pay

Paid hours times the hourly rate

ℹ️ Note: A shift with no Time Out is still open, so it isn't counted in pay or in the export. Close it first. See Add or edit a timesheet.

FAQ

What's in the CSV file?

The same columns as the Summary view, for the dates and location you chose, plus a Total row at the bottom. The name column is called Employee in the file.

Why are someone's hours missing or low?

They may have an open shift because they didn't clock out. Find it in the Timesheets view and enter the Time out. See Add or edit a timesheet.

Why does someone's Total Pay show $0?

They don't have an hourly rate for that job. Add a rate on their profile, or a default rate on the job.

Why does the export say No data to export?

No shifts match your date range or location. Choose a wider date range or a different location, then try again.

Does Owner run payroll for me?

No. Owner tracks hours and calculates pay, but it doesn't pay your staff or handle payroll taxes. Give the exported file to your payroll provider.
