Set up your Owner tablet and printer

When your Owner tablet arrives, it walks you through setup one screen at a time. You'll connect to Wi-Fi, sign in, and pair your printer.

Start setup

  1. On the Welcome screen, tap Get started.

  2. On Connect to Wi-Fi, tap Open network settings and connect to your restaurant's Wi-Fi.

  3. When the tablet shows Connected to Wi-Fi, tap Continue.

  4. Enter your location code when prompted.

  5. If your brand has more than one location, on Confirm you'd like to sign in, check that it's your location's name and address.

  6. Tap Sign in.

ℹ️ Note: Your location code is on the Hardware page in both the Owner Dashboard and the Owner App. See Find your location code to log in.

Set up your hardware

After you sign in, the tablet walks you through setup one screen at a time. You can tap Skip for now on any screen and set it up later. The main thing to connect is your printer.

First, get the printer ready:

  1. Plug in the printer.

  2. Load the paper so the roll feeds from the bottom.

  3. Confirm the printer is on. The Power light (left) glows blue. On the older TSP100IIIBi, it's called Ready.

If the Error light (right) is on, close the paper door fully and reseat the roll.

Set up your printer

On the Set up your printer screen, your printer appears in the list.

  1. Tap Pair next to your printer.

  2. Wait for the green check, then tap Continue.

Your printer connects over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi:

  • Bluetooth is the simplest. The printer appears automatically when it's near the tablet (within about 30 feet), and it keeps working even if your Wi-Fi goes down.

  • Wi-Fi is best when the printer is far from the tablet, or when Bluetooth keeps dropping. To set the printer up over Wi-Fi, see Set up a Wi-Fi printer. Once it's on your network, it appears here to pair.

ℹ️ Note: Older TSP100III printers connect by Bluetooth only. The current TSP100IV connects either way.

Choose what prints automatically

In Printing, turn on what you want printed:

  • Print tickets: kitchen tickets for new orders.

  • Show option group names: group labels like "Toppings" on tickets and receipts.

Under Receipts:

  • Print orders placed online: your website, the Owner app, and marketplaces like DoorDash and Uber Eats.

  • Print orders from this station: orders paid at this tablet.

  • Print orders from other stations: orders paid at another tablet at your location.

  • Print logo on receipt: your logo at the top of each receipt (off by default).

Test it

Run a test print to make sure your printer is connected and working. The button is on your station's screen, on your Owner tablet or POS.

⚠️ The Test print button only appears when your printer is connected. If you do not see it, connect your printer first.
