Set up a Wi-Fi printer on your Owner tablet

Your Owner receipt printer can connect over Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth, so orders keep printing when the printer sits away from the tablet. You set the printer's network with the Star Quick Setup Utility, then add the printer in the Owner app.

Before you start

Get the printer and tablet ready first.

  1. Connect the printer to power and turn it on.

  2. Turn on the tablet and unlock to the home screen.

  3. Turn on the tablet's Wi-Fi: swipe down from the top of the screen, then go to Settings › Wi-Fi.

Set the printer's Wi-Fi

Open Star Quick and connect Wi-Fi

Tip: Launch the Star Quick Setup Utility from inside the Owner app under Settings › Station › Printing, not from the tablet's Settings app. The steps below use that path.

  1. In the Owner app, go to Settings › Station › Printing.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Printing screen, past Receipts and Tickets, to Star Printer Settings, and tap Open Star Quick Setup Utility.

  3. Tap Start Guide (Initial Settings), then Use Wireless LAN, then choose TSP143IV-UEWB.

  4. Enter your Wi-Fi SSID (network name) and Security Key (password), then tap Next.

  5. Hold the tablet close to the printer until it prints a confirmation ticket and the printer's Wi-Fi light changes from blue to green.

  6. Tap Finish.

Note: After you open Star Quick, the Owner app brings you back automatically after about 2 minutes if you don't return on your own.

If you don't see Star Printer Settings

Star Printer Settings appears only on Owner tablets that already have the Star Quick Setup Utility installed. If you don't see it, open Star Quick from the tablet's Settings app instead: open Settings, search for Star Quick, tap the result, then tap App details › Open. If the app is missing or won't open, restart the tablet and try again, or turn on its permissions under Settings › Apps › Star Quick › Permissions.

Confirm the printer in Star Quick

  1. From the Star Quick menu, tap Printer.

  2. Tap Allow on each permission request (location, nearby devices, local network, Bluetooth, storage) so the app can scan and connect.

  3. Choose LAN / Model: TSP100IV, then tap Yes. The printer connects to the tablet over Wi-Fi.

  4. Go to Printer Operation Check and tap Printer Test. The printer prints a ticket.

Add the printer in the Owner app

  1. Open the Owner app on the tablet.

  2. Go to Settings › Station.

  3. Tap the + Printer tile on the station graphic.

  4. Under Printers found, tap the TSP100IV - Lan row that matches the serial you confirmed earlier.

  5. Tap Test print in the top-right of the Station screen to check orders print correctly.

Quick troubleshooting

  • Printer not found in Star Quick: confirm it's powered on, restart the printer and tablet, then re-scan.

  • Permissions blocked: go to Settings › Apps › Star Quick › Permissions and turn them on.

  • Still failing: confirm the tablet and printer are on the same network (watch for separate guest or isolated networks).
