Connect DoorDash to Owner

Connecting DoorDash publishes your Owner menu to the DoorDash app and brings DoorDash orders into your Owner POS or tablet, alongside the rest of your orders. You do this yourself in your Owner Dashboard.

Before you start

  • You don't need Owner POS. Any Owner plan can connect DoorDash.

  • You have a DoorDash account, or you're ready to create one while you connect.

  • Your Owner menu is built out and ready to go live on DoorDash.

  • Your location isn't connected to a point-of-sale integration such as Toast, Square, Clover or Otter.

⚠️ If your location is connected to a point-of-sale integration, don't connect DoorDash here. Set it up through your POS provider instead. If you already receive DoorDash orders through your POS, that's the setup you're on and this card doesn't apply.

After you log in you'll come back to the Owner Dashboard automatically.

  9. You'll land on the onboarding status page. DoorDash now pulls your menu and reviews it against their requirements in the background.

✅ Tip: a markup is already set for you by default, with rounding applied, and you can adjust it for each location. We suggest syncing your online ordering menus across to DoorDash.

⚠️ Each Owner location connects to one DoorDash store only. Once a store is mapped to a location it stops appearing as an option for your other locations.

What happens next

DoorDash reviews your menu in the background once you've saved. This isn't instant, so expect a wait before orders start arriving.

  • If your menu is approved, you go live on your own. There's nothing for you to click. The row for your location on Settings > Marketplaces > DoorDash moves from Menu approved to Activating integration to Connected, and DoorDash orders start coming in.

  • If your menu is blocked, we email everyone on your brand who can access that location with what needs fixing, naming the menus and the errors. Make the changes in your Owner Dashboard, then go to Settings > Marketplaces > DoorDash, click that location, and click Re-sync menus to submit it again.

ℹ️ Note: refresh the onboarding status page any time to check where you are. We also email everyone on your brand who can access that location when your store goes live or needs attention.

Common questions

Do you support the DoorDash POS?

No. This is a marketplace connection only, so DoorDash orders come into your Owner POS. Owner doesn't integrate with the DoorDash POS system itself.

DoorDash isn't showing any stores to choose from. What's wrong?

Your DoorDash account may have no stores set up, or DoorDash may mark its stores as not eligible to connect. Your login may not have Business Admin access, or the store may already be mapped to another one of your Owner locations. Check each of these.

I can only see some of my DoorDash stores, not all of them.

Owner can only show the stores your DoorDash login gives us, so if you're seeing a subset, that account probably only has access to a subset. Many restaurants have more than one DoorDash login. Work through these in order:

  1. Check you're signed in with a DoorDash account that has Business Admin access to all your locations. DoorDash requires that access before a store can be seen and connected.

  2. If the right stores still don't appear, add another email to your DoorDash account with Business Admin access to all stores, then reconnect from Settings > Marketplaces and sign in with that email.

  3. If no login shows the right stores, your DoorDash accounts may need merging. Contact DoorDash support and ask them to merge them. We can't do this from our side.

Will connecting replace my existing DoorDash menu?

Yes, entirely, and you don't choose what stays. Your Owner menu replaces whatever is on DoorDash now, based on what's in your Dashboard at the time. The sync is nearly instant so there's little to no downtime, but if you've put custom work into your DoorDash menu it will be lost. From then on you manage everything in your Owner Dashboard.

Where do DoorDash orders show up in my reporting?

Under Channels in your Owner Dashboard, tracked separately from your other order sources.
