Connect Uber Eats to Owner

Connecting Uber Eats publishes your Owner menu to Uber Eats and brings Uber Eats orders into your Owner POS, tablet, KDS, Dashboard and app, alongside the rest of your orders. You do this yourself in your Owner Dashboard.

Before you start

  • You don't need Owner POS. Any Owner plan can connect Uber Eats.

  • You already have an Uber Eats account, set up at merchants.ubereats.com. You don't need to build a menu there, because Owner publishes yours across.

  • Your Owner menu is built out and ready to go live on Uber Eats.

  • Your location isn't connected to a point-of-sale integration such as Toast, Clover, Square or Otter.

⚠️ If your location is connected to a point-of-sale integration, don't connect Uber Eats here. Set it up through your POS provider instead. If you already receive Uber Eats orders that way, that's the setup you're on and this card doesn't apply.

Connect Uber Eats

  1. In your Owner Dashboard, click Settings, then the Marketplaces tab.

  2. Click Connect next to Uber Eats. This opens an Uber Eats login page in a new tab.

  3. Log in to your Uber Eats account. You'll come back to the Owner Dashboard automatically.

  4. Find the location you want to connect, then choose the Uber Eats store to map it to.

  5. Select the menus you want to sync to Uber Eats.

  6. Set your price adjustment. A markup is already set for you with rounding applied, and you can change it at any time. It can differ from your DoorDash markup, and price changes wait for your approval before they reach Uber Eats.

  7. Click Save, then repeat for any other locations.

  8. You'll land on the onboarding status page, where your menu is processed in the background.

⚠️ Each Owner location connects to one Uber Eats store only. Once a store is mapped to a location it stops appearing as an option for your other locations.

What happens next

Your menu is processed in the background once you've saved, so this isn't instant.

  • If your menu is approved, you go live on your own. There's no separate button to press. Saving registers Owner as your POS with Uber, enables your store, pushes your menus and sets the store online, and Uber Eats orders start arriving once that finishes.

  • If your menu is blocked, Uber Eats tells you what needs fixing. Make the changes in your Owner Dashboard, then go to Settings > Marketplaces and click Re-sync for that location to submit it again.

If you were on Uber Eats through another system

  • Your old POS or aggregator, such as Otter, Toast, Clover or Square, keeps publishing its own menu to Uber Eats until you cancel the account with them. Unlinking it is not enough on its own.

  • You need to do both: delete the old menu on Uber Eats, and cancel the account with your previous vendor. Skipping the cancellation is the most common cause of menu and order problems after switching to Owner.

⚠️ Your previous Uber Eats menus may still appear alongside the one Owner publishes. This is a known problem on Uber Eats' side. Once you've checked that your Owner menu has synced across correctly, contact Uber Eats and ask them to remove the old listings.

Once you're live

  • Make menu changes in Owner. They sync to Uber Eats on their own. Changes you make directly in Uber Eats won't carry over, and price changes wait for your approval before they go.

  • Sold out items. Mark an item unavailable in Owner and it comes off Uber Eats. On your tablet, Unavailable stays off until you turn it back on, while Unavailable until tomorrow comes back on its own.

  • Cancellations. You can cancel an Uber Eats order straight from your Owner device, without calling Uber Eats.

  • Delivery tracking. Driver status shows on your device in real time.

  • Payouts. Uber Eats handles these, and nothing changes about your existing payout setup.

  • Conversion Cards. Coupon links to your own online ordering print on every marketplace receipt automatically, so it's worth putting one in each bag.

  • Short Code on receipts. Your Uber Eats order number prints on every ticket as a Short Code. Quote it if you call Uber support, using the number on the receipt.

Common questions

Do you support an Uber Eats POS?

No. This is a marketplace connection only, so Uber Eats orders come into your Owner POS. Owner doesn't integrate with an Uber Eats POS system.

Uber Eats isn't showing any stores to choose from. What's wrong?

Either your Uber Eats account has no active stores, or the store is already mapped to another one of your Owner locations. If you can only see some of your stores, the account you signed in with probably only has access to a subset. Sign in with an account that covers all your stores, and contact Uber Eats support if that still doesn't show them.

Where do Uber Eats orders show up in my reporting?

Under Channels in your Owner Dashboard, as its own channel with Uber Eats and Postmates listed separately beneath it.
