Owner and Uber Eats Integration Guide

How to connect Uber Eats to your Owner dashboard, sync your menu, and start receiving Uber Eats orders in Owner.

Before you start

Before you connect, get these ready:

  • An active Uber Eats account that manages your Uber Eats stores.

  • A complete Owner menu, ready to go live on Uber Eats.

⚠️ Caution: If you're switching to Uber Eats from another POS or delivery aggregator, like Otter, remove both your old menu and your old integration from Uber Eats first.

If you remove the menu but leave the integration connected, it can keep syncing the old menu back over and create a duplicate. A leftover menu from your old setup is the most common reason orders don't come through after connecting.

Connect your Uber Eats account

  1. Go to the Uber Eats website and log out of your account. This makes sure you log into the right Uber Eats account in the next steps.

  2. In your Owner dashboard, go to Settings, then Marketplaces.

  3. On the Uber Eats row, click Connect, then log in with your Uber Eats account.

ℹ️ If you don't see the store you expect, you're probably logged into the wrong Uber Eats account. Log back in with the account that manages that store. If some stores are still missing, contact Uber Eats through the Uber Eats Merchant Portal to update your account's store list.

Choose your store, menu, and pricing

  1. Choose an Owner location, then pick the Uber Eats store to connect it to.

  2. Under Menu to sync, choose the one menu you want on Uber Eats.

ℹ️ Right now you can only sync one menu to Uber Eats.

  3. To mark your prices up for Uber Eats, set a Price increase. We recommend 15-20% to cover Uber Eats' commission fees. You can change this anytime, separately from your DoorDash or Grubhub pricing.

  4. Click Save. Owner publishes your menu and brings your store online.

Tip: Once your store is active, Uber Eats orders come into your dashboard and POS automatically, tagged Uber Eats, next to your other orders.

Items over the Uber Eats price limit

Uber Eats won't accept an item priced over $375. That limit counts:

  • The Price increase you set. A $340 item with a 20% increase publishes at $408, so Uber Eats won't accept it.

  • The price of any options on the item.

Owner leaves these items off your Uber Eats menu, publishes the rest of your menu, and emails you a list of what it skipped.

To get a skipped item onto Uber Eats, lower its price to $375 or less. To keep an item off Uber Eats on purpose, turn off the Marketplace channel on that item. It stays available on your own online ordering.

If a location can't connect

Uber Eats works for any Owner location, including Owner POS, Owner Tablet only, and locations with no POS system. The only locations that can't connect are ones running a different POS, like Toast, Clover, or Square, at that location.

ℹ️ If you try to connect one of these locations, you'll see this message: "This location has a third-party POS integration and can't be connected to Uber Eats."

Receiving Uber Eats orders

Uber Eats orders come into your Owner dashboard, POS, and tablet automatically, tagged Uber Eats.

ℹ️ Uber Eats sets its own prep and ready time for these orders, independent of your prep time settings in Owner. Guests also pay for Uber Eats orders directly through Uber Eats, so refund requests go through Uber Eats support, not Owner.

Manage your menu

Manage your Uber Eats menu from your Owner dashboard, the same way you manage the rest of your menu. When you make a change, it syncs to Uber Eats automatically. You edit this menu only in Owner, not on Uber Eats' side.

ℹ️ Note: Changes can take a few minutes to appear on Uber Eats.

Refresh your Uber Eats menu

Your Uber Eats menu syncs automatically whenever you edit your menu in Owner, so you don't normally need to do this. If your Uber Eats menu still looks out of date, you can re-sync it yourself.

  1. In your Owner dashboard, go to Settings, then Marketplaces.

  2. Open your connected Uber Eats store.

  3. Click Re-sync menus.

Change which menu syncs

You can switch the menu that syncs to Uber Eats at any time.

  1. In your Owner dashboard, go to Settings, then Marketplaces, and open your Uber Eats store.

  2. Under Menu to sync, choose a different menu.

  3. Click Save.

⚠️ Caution: Switching menus replaces your current Uber Eats menu with the new one.

Manage your hours

Your Uber Eats hours come from your Online hours in Owner, so you set them once.

  1. In your Owner dashboard, go to Settings, then Location Settings, then Hours.

  2. Open Online hours. These set when guests can place pickup or delivery orders, and they're what sync to Uber Eats.

  3. Choose how to set them: Same as store hours, Offset from store hours, or Custom.

  4. Save. Your hours, including Special hours like holidays, sync to Uber Eats automatically.

Pause Uber Eats orders

Pause Uber Eats orders when you need a break, without disconnecting. You can do this from your tablet, your POS, the Owner dashboard, or the Owner App.

You have two options:

  • All online orders pauses your own online ordering and every connected marketplace, including Uber Eats.

  • Uber Eats orders pauses Uber Eats only and leaves your own online ordering running. If you have more than one marketplace connected, this tab is called Marketplace orders and you choose which ones to pause.

Pause Uber Eats only

  1. Tap Kitchen status, then Busy.

  2. Tap Pause online orders.

  3. Open the Uber Eats orders tab.

  4. Choose how long to pause: 30 mins, 60 mins, or until a set time.

  5. Tap Pause Uber Eats orders.

ℹ️ If you have more than one marketplace connected, this tab is called Marketplace orders instead. Under Pause orders from, check the ones you want to pause, then tap Pause marketplace orders.

Pause online and marketplace orders together

  1. Tap Kitchen status, then Busy.

  2. Tap Pause online orders.

  3. Open the All online orders tab.

  4. Choose how long to pause: 30 mins, 60 mins, or until a set time. Owner shows you an estimate of the sales you'd miss over that time.

  5. Tap Pause online ordering.

Resume orders

While orders are paused, you'll see a banner at the top of the screen that reads Online & marketplace orders paused.

  1. Tap the banner.

  2. Tap Resume all orders. This resumes your own online ordering and every paused marketplace.

Disconnect Uber Eats

You can disconnect Uber Eats from Owner yourself. Owner staff can't do this for you, no matter the reason. Only you can disconnect your Uber Eats integration.

⚠️ Caution: Disconnecting doesn't take your restaurant off Uber Eats. Your Uber Eats storefront stays live and keeps taking orders, they just stop coming into Owner. To stop selling on Uber Eats entirely, pause or close your store from the Uber Eats Merchant Portal, or use the pause steps above.

  1. In your Owner dashboard, go to Settings, then Marketplaces.

  2. Click Log in with Uber Eats to manage stores.

  3. Sign in with the Uber Eats account that manages the store you want to disconnect.

ℹ️ If you manage multiple locations with different Uber Eats accounts, only the account that connected a location can disconnect it.

  4. Under Add or remove stores, deselect the store you want to disconnect.

  5. Click Save, then confirm Disconnect Uber Eats locations?
